Lawrence K.C. Li, MDDr. Li practices orthopedics and sports medicine with a focus on shoulder, knee and hand conditions. His goal is to regain function in the shortest time possible. Dr. Li performs shoulder and knee surgeries arthroscopically, using minimally invasive techniques, which result much quicker recoveries than traditional procedures. Dr. Li also uses minimally invasive techniques to decrease recovery time after hand surgery.Dr. Li founded Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center in 1996. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1982. He attended medical school at the University of Rochester, where he was awarded his M.D. in 1986. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Ohio State University Hospitals from 1986-1991. Dr. Li is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery Dr. Li has served as team physician for Millikin University, Illinois State University Hockey and area high schools. He is an adjunct faculty member at Illinois State University.
